The University of Minnesota is one of the most prestigious public research universities in the country. Located between Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Twin Cities campus is the largest and the oldest within the U of M system. The grounds cover over 300 acres on the east and west banks of the Mississippi River and is school of choice to more than 51,000 students.

University of Minnesota Big 10 Athletics

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are a NCAA Big 10 conference school offering men and women’s basketball, golf, ice hockey, track, swimming, gymnastics, tennis and cross country. Men’s only sports include wrestling, football and baseball. Gopher football games are played at TCF Bank Stadium and basketball games are at Williams Arena.

Publications and Media

The Minnesota Daily is a Monday - Thursday publication for students during the school season. It is published online for Friday’s addition. The newest rag is The Wake Student Magazine that covers school related stories and reviews. This student run magazine was named by the Independent Press Association as the Best Campus Publication in 2006. Radio K, KUOM, is an award winning college radio station at the University of Minnesota that plays old and new independent music and covers a variety of cultural subjects through its popular show Culture Queue.
